Growing up/growing old, I would always/frequently/often spend/waste/devote evenings listening to my abuela/grandmother/grandma tell her/its/these folktales. Every/Each and every/One by one story was a tale to another world, filled with magic/fantastical creatures/supernatural beings, brave heroes/strong characters, and sometimes even a dash of trouble/mischief. They/The stories/Her tales taught me/helped me understand/showed me about culture/tradition, and always/forever/still today leave a lasting impression/mark on my heart/special place in my memory.

One day/On a bright morning, Kofi's grandmother decided to take him to the renowned weavers in a nearby town. Excited, Kofi eagerly followed her, his heart beating with curiosity.
